This Used TOYOTA LANDCRUISER car for sale – Unfinished Project – 40 Series Landcruiser SWB Significantly Modified 40 Series Land Cruiser. This vehicle, once a SWB 40 series, has had chassis modification (80 series front grafted to a 40 series rear), Reconditioned 4.2Ltr Turbo Diesel motor, 4 speed Automatic transmission, 80 series diffs and brakes and extensively modified coil spring suspension. IT IS BEST SUITED AS A BASIS FOR A UNIQUE PROJECT OR AS PARTS AS IT STILL REQUIRES A LOT OF WORK. ***CHECK YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS REGARDING GRAFTING OF 2 DIFFERENT CHASSIS*** The engine is a rebuilt 1HDT 4.2Ltr factory turbo out of an 80 series. It has been rebuilt by a diesel mechanic, however my now require the injectors to be cleaned/replaced as it has sat for a few months. It started beautifully the last time it was turned over. The automatic transmission is also out of an 80 Series Land Cruiser as are the front and rear diffs and brakes. The diffs are from a DX “poverty pack” and so are disk front and drum rear. The front diff has an LSD installed. Suspension had been changed from leaf springs to a coil spring setup, with 80 series 3 link setup in the front and custom “A-Frame” in the rear offering long travel. The 3 Link connects to an 80 series front chassis that has been grafted to the extended 40 series rear chassis The body work is entirely custom, with the rear tub enclosed with a recess for the number plate. The cabin window panels are also custom made and there are lockable boxes built into the rear wheel arches. The front guards have been widened to accommodate the wider wheel track of the 80 series diffs, wheels and 35” tyres. Rear guards will need to be manufactured to complete the body work All brake lights, parkers and indicators are LED’s giving this vehicle a very unique look. There is still extensive body work required in order to finish this project. Rolling stock is 4 X “US Look” 15” Steel rims with old tires. New wiring has been started but needs completing. Required to finish this project vehicle: •Radiator and associated plumbing •Fuel tank and Lines •Brake master cylinder and brake lines •Drive Shafts •Gauges (I have VDO gauges available separately) •Bodywork and flares •Shock Absorbers Very sought after parts in a truly unique vehicle when finished.
